What better way to celebrate the start of a new year than driving loud, flashy cars around the city? Since Rudeboy Custom held the very first PNW Touring event, which was New Year Touring 2022 (go watch the video hehe), I’ve been dreaming of having our very own Checkpoint car to really be a part of the action.
Finally, we have our team MX73 Cressida and enjoyed the night as more than just media/spectators.
For me, these local touring nights are so much more than just a fun cruise. I think my favourite part is seeing everyone really get into it, especially those who had dedicated themselves to building a car for the event. It’s also really exciting to see how many people come from far away to be a part of it all too. In the last few years that these events have been held, the turnout has grown tenfold and it’s amazing to see just how many people there are around us now who are really excited about kaido racers and want to create their own.
One of my favourite cars at the event was Austin’s Celica Supra, I really admired that he had created an entirely new Pepsi-spec for the car which he debuted that night. It really looked beautiful and perfectly captured the spirit of old-school kaido racers, not to mention he was showering the road with sparks because of how low he had made his car.
